The Wheel
The Wheel Diagram is a proven tool which illustrates what A Christ-Centered life looks like and instructs us in how to live it. Committing to grow in our understanding and then apply the following five areas will mature us spiritually as we are shaped more and more into the image of Jesus (Romans 8:29). Click on the bold scripture following the descriptions about each aspect of the Wheel and evaluate where you are. As you can see on the rim of the wheel, (pictured below) the fruitful Christian life is essentially made up of living out the privileges of our new identity in Christ. All Christians have the privilege of being called God’s sons (Galatians 4:4-7; Romans 8:14-17) and the spokes of the wheel are the practical ways we can take advantage of our new status as God’s children.

Each part of "The Wheel" represents a crucial
component of a vibrant Christian life.

The Hub (Center circle) ~ Jesus Christ at the Center . Just as the driving force in a wheel comes from the hub, so the power to live the Christian life comes from Jesus Christ the Center. He lives in us in the Person of the Holy Spirit, whose expressed purpose is to glorify Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:20; John 15:5
The Rim ~ Obedience to Christ . The rim represents the Christian responding to Christ’s Lordship through wholehearted, day-by day obedience to Him through faith ,prayer & repentance. The proof of your love for God is your demonstrated obedience to Him.
Romans 12:1-2; John 14:21; Luke 6:46
The Word Spoke ~ This spoke shows the means by which Christ’s power becomes operative in our lives. We maintain personal contact with God through the vertical spokes—the Word and prayer. The Word is our spiritual food as well as our sword for spiritual battle. It is the foundational spoke for effective Christian living. As God speaks to you through the Scriptures, you can see His principles for life and ministry, learn how to obey, and become acquainted with Christ. A vital personal intake of God’s Word is essential for healthy Spiritual growth. 1 Peter 2:2; 2 Timothy 3:16; Joshua 1:8
The Prayer Spoke ~ Through prayer we have direct communication with our heavenly Father and receive provision for our needs. As we pray, we show our dependence upon and trust in Him. Prayer is a natural response to God as you hear Him speak to you through His Word. Prayer unleashes the power of God in your personal battles and in the lives of those for whom you pray. John 15:7; Philippians 4:6-7
The Fellowship Spoke ~ This horizontal spokes concern our relationship to people—believers, through Christian fellowship; and unbelievers, through witnessing. Fellowship centered around the Lord Jesus Christ provides the mutual encouragement, admonition, and stimulation we all need as we learn from and encourage each other. God has directed Christians to build each other up through inter-dependence and loving relationships with each other. Matthew 18:20; Hebrews 10:24-25; 1 John 1:3
The Witnessing Spoke ~ The first three spokes prepare us for passing on to others all that we have received from the Lord. The natural overflow of a rich vibrant life in Christ should be sharing with others how they too can have this life. This is accomplished through Witnessing, sharing our own experience of Christ and declaring and explaining the Gospel and God’s power to save.
Matthew 4:19; Romans 1:16; 1 Peter 3:15
